HAYATI

Asıl adı, Francis Albert Sinatra’dır. 12 Aralık 1915 yılında Hoboken’de doğdu. Sinema oyuncusu olarak da büyük başarı kazanan ABD’li popüler bir şarkıcıydı. Şarkı söylemeye yaklaşık olarak 1936 yılında başladı. 1937’de kendi kurduğu Hoboken Four adlı toplulukla amatör bir yarışmada birinci oldu. 1939’dabir cafede çalıştığı sırada Harry James’in ilgisini çekerek onun topluluğuna katıldı.aynı yılın Temmuz ayındabu topluluğun eşliğinde söylediği “From the Bottom of My Heart” şarkısıyla ilk plağını yaptı. 1940-1942 arasında Tommy Dorsey Orkestrası’yla çalıştı.31 Aralık 1942’deNew York arasında “Your Hit Parade” adlı radyo programında solo şarkıcı olarak söylediği şarkılarla ülke çapında ünlendi. Sinatra sinemadaki ilk önemli rolünü “Higher and Higher” filminde oynadı.1940’lar boyunca çeşitli müzikal filmlerde rol aldı. 1953’te From Here Eternity’de şarkı söylemeden canlandırdığı Angelo Maggio rolüyle en iyi yardımcı oyuncu Oscar’ını kazandı. Bu başarısının ardından çeşitli rolleri canlandıran bir oyuncu olarak sinemadaki konumunu pekiştirdi.ilerlemiş yaşına rağmen 1990’lı yıllarda hala konser vermekteydi. 1998 yılında ise ABD’nin Los Angeles şehrinde vefat etti.
